以前に姉妹で英検に挑戦したお姉さんのKちゃんが、日本語と英語で合格体験を書いてくれたので紹介します。

私が英検準1級に合格したのは、小学生の頃です。英語というよりも、試験の内容自体が難しく、新聞などを日常的に読むことで対策を行いました。2級から準1級への壁は高く、私も合格するのに3年もかかりました。試験に落ちる度に周囲の励ましがなければ、私は諦めていたかもしれません。それでも合格すれば自信につながるので、良い体験だったと思っています。

I passed Eiken Grade Pre-1 when I was an elementary school student. Themes and topics were more difficult than English. To overcome this, I read newspapers and studied about societies. Eiken Grade Pre-1 was a lot difficult compared to Grade 2, and it took three years to pass the exam. If my sorroundings didn’t cheer me every time, I failed the exam and I might have given up.
Overall, passing Eiken gave me a lot of confidence, and I thought it was a good experience.
